Brian, In 2022, you made a single comment on the initial messaging PRD where you asked “can XMTP be Signal-level secure?” I’ll never forget that as it has been our North Star for the past two years.

As of this week, with the launch of v3, XMTP is now officially as secure as Signal— built from the ground up with MLS, with even more privacy than Signal, as users don’t even need a phone number to create an account.

At the end of the day, messaging is the largest use-case in the world.

Bringing this level of security and privacy to our onchain conversations is a massive step forward for all of us, making messaging as secure as wallets. Even better, XMTP is a network, not just a stand-alone app, providing interoperability.

With this milestone, we really have the foundation to go build onchain messaging in a way that can onboard the next billion users, while not compromising on privacy and security.

There is so much opportunity to innovate and own this market.

People trust Coinbase. They don’t trust Telegram. That feedback is clear.

We have the unique opportunity to create a product where users can have their most meaningful conversations that they trust like they trust their wallets.
